Alicante is under an hour's drive south of Benidorm, so it's a handy trip. Department stores, high-end boutiques and family-owned specialist shops – you'll find everything a shopaholic could need.
And if you also feel like some sightseeing, there are two history-steeped castles that boast great views over the city and marina as well a honey-coloured basilica.
