Na aankomst begint de groep aan een 4-uur durende wandeling door vreemd uitgestrekte lavavelden van Laugahraun, de Vondugil-kloof en de indrukwekkend verzadigde berg Brennisteinsalda. Als je terug reist door de Grænagil-kloof, krijg je de gebeeldhouwde kenmerken te zien als gevolg van een geodynamische activiteit van bergen, vulkanen en gletsjerrivieren.
