Meet your guide and enjoy a 30-minute ride towards the former capital of Denmark. Upon arrival in the charming city, your guide will take you on a walking tour through the historic city center of Roskilde. Stroll over the cobbled street past the various local shops and cafes and colorful Danish houses. You will arrive at the Roskilde Cathedral, the first Gothic cathedral in Scandinavia. The cathedral is the final burier site of various Danish monarchs and was built around 1170.
Finally, you will visit the Viking Museum and enjoy a 1-hour guided tour with your guide. This museum exposes 5 Viking ships from the 11th century found in the Roskilde fjord. You can also experience life as a Viking by visiting the Jetty where you can dress up as a Viking, or join some Viking activities like jewelry making or shield painting at Tunet (only during summer months). After your Viking experience, it is time to head back to Copenhagen.
