Day 1 Nairobi - Amboseli
You will be picked up from Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport or a city hotel to go to Wilson Airport for the scheduled flight to Amboseli National Park. The flight departs Nairobi at 8.15am and arrives into Amboseli at 8.55am. Upon arrival, you will be met by a guide from the camp and depart for your first game drive en route to Tortolis Camp. Following lunch, there will be an afternoon game drive returning to camp as the sunsets.
Tortilis lies in unspoiled woodland on the edge of Amboseli National Park. The main lodge is open-sided, where guests can relax and gaze out towards the soaring snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. Luxury thatch-roofed tents are scattered among acacia and comprise of a stone veranda, elegant bathrooms, king-size beds, and many traditional decorations. Tortilis also provide interesting nature walks guided by local Masai. Within Amboseli, the elephants are very habituated to people (it is the site of the longest-running elephant study in the world) and visitors may relax here, to observe the herds. There are also lion, a high concentration of hyena, cape buffalo, waterbuck, and serval among many others. With over four hundred bird species including flamingo, a variety of waders and one weaver particular to Amboseli, the bird-watching scene is excellent.
Day 2 Amboseli
You will spend your morning and afternoon game viewing in the park with possible clear views of the highest mountain in Africa, Mt Kilimanjaro. This is a perfect backdrop to herds of elephant, Cape buffalo, giraffe the many species of plains game that are found here.
Day 3 Amboseli - Nairobi
Following breakfast, there will be a game drive en route to the airstrip for the scheduled flight back to Nairobi. The flight departs Amboseli at 9.05am and arrives back to Nairobi at 9.50am. you will be driven back to your hotel.
