The inside story
The Uprising Museum, dedicated to the Warsaw Uprising, traces day by day the bloody history of the Warsaw Uprising from 1 August to 2 October 1944. It was inaugurated on 31 July 2004, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the uprising and is the Warsaw residents' homage to those who fought for Poland during WWII.
The stated objectives of the museum include the creation of an archive of historical information about the uprising and the recording of the stories and memories of living participants. There are multi-story exhibits, featuring photographs, audio and video, interactive displays, artifacts, written stories and other evidence of what life was like during the German occupation of Warsaw, the uprising and its aftermath.
