Embark on a tour dedicated to the memory of the heroes of WWII with this full-day excursion to Normandy D-Day beaches!
After picking you up at your hotel, your driver will drive to Normandy (a 2-hour drive). You will visit the Peace Memorial in Caen, devoted to the D Day “Operation Overlord”. It presents a unique, exhaustive, and poignant tribute to the battles that waged on Normandy soil from June 7th to August 29th. A rich collection of vehicles, weapons, uniforms, documents of war are displayed. You will travel through the 30 miles coasting scenic road of the beaches and visit Juno, Gold beaches and Arromanches, the artificial harbour built for the Overlord operations.
After lunch (on your own), you'll discover the preserved coastal defence battery of Longues followed by Omaha Beach, the Museum and the American Cemetery.
You will end this pilgrim to La Pointe du Hoc where US Rangers scaled the cliffs. There are many stops to stroll around all these historical sights. You will be back in Paris around 7.30 pm.
