Besides the beaches of Cancun and the ruins of Coba and Tulum, another bucket list site to visit while in the Yucatan Peninsula are cenotes. These natural sinkholes, some located in centuries-old caves, are a must-see! Join this full-day adventure as you discover two beautiful cenotes.
You’ll begin the day’s adventure by visiting the first cenote, Dos Ojos. Translated to mean ‘Two Eyes’, this cenote is a flooded cave system that connects two cenotes, hence the name. Explore this beautiful passageway – Dos Ojos holds the record for the deepest underwater passageway – take photos of the stunning scenery and take a dip in the refreshing crystal-clear waters before heading to the next cenote.
The Gran Cenote is another famous cenote in Mexico. This cavernous sinkhole is made up of a collection of caves and caverns that are flooded with water. You can rent some snorkeling equipment and jump into the cool clear waters to paddle around with the colorful fishes.
After relaxing in the waters and marveling at the Gran Cenote, you’ll head to the nearby town of Tulum and enjoy a hearty local lunch (not included) before you board the comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle and make our way back to your accommodation in Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
