The tour will begin by visiting Piazza Stesicoro, where you will admire the Roman Amphitheatre, dating back to the second century. You will then reach via dei Crociferi, one of the most beautiful baroque streets of Italy, full of churches, passing by via Etnea. On the north side of the street there is Villa Cerami portal (which today hosts the law faculty) and on the south side there is the San Benedetto arch.
The tour continues with the visit of Piazza Università where there is the majestic Central University Palace.
You will then go to Piazza Vincenzo Bellini, where the famous Massimo Theatre is, and to Piazza Duomo, where you will see the Cathedral and the “liotru” (the elephant, symbol of the city). Finally you will reach Ursino Castle (which today hosts Catania’s civic museum) passing by the Fish market.
