What to expect

Once you've packed your bathing suit and sun lotion, you'll be ready for a day of fun in the sun at Watercity Waterpark, Heraklion. There's everything you need for an action-packed day out, and all the space you need to stretch out on a sunbed and top up that tan.

There's water games to bring out your inner child and chutes and flumes to test your nerves. Hurl yourself down Tarzan's Game, whizz down the twin hydro tubes and take a deep breath before you head into the cyclone. If you're more of the sedate kind, then you'll soon find your way to the Lazy River.

What's more, kids will be entertained with pools and games just for them, and the giant swimming pool is where the whole family can come together. Take it easy by the poolside when you need some time out and enjoy a day of fun and frolics.

Then, at an olive farm, you can sample olives, fresh tomatoes, and raki before your olive oil tasting session begins – a great opportunity to learn how to taste oils like a professional and compare the flavor profiles of different varieties. Finish off the day with a cooking lesson on various ways to use olive oil in Cretan cuisine. Authentic dishes, such as tzatziki and Greek salad will feature, and you'll find out why the traditional Cretan diet is so beneficial to health and longevity.
