The inside story
London’s King’s Cross Station is a railway passenger terminal located in the Borough of Camden on the edge of central London. King’s Cross Station services train lines to North East England, East Coast Main Line and Scotland. The station is adjacent to St Pancras International railway station (the London terminus for the Eurostar) and also King’s Cross St Pancras tube station. The area collectively forms a major transport hub to the rest of the city and afar.
The station and the area surrounding it has been used as a backdrop to many films and tv shows and is most famously known for its part in Harry Potter books and films, particularly Platform 9 ¾. The fictional platform acts as a starting point to board the Hogwarts Express. Look out for a luggage trolley embedded into a wall and pretend you are on your way to the magical Hogwarts! Platform 9 ¾ is also next to the Harry Potter merchandise shop where you can pick up a souvenir from your visit.
King’s Cross Station is near many major tourist attractions, including The British Library and Regent’s Park. The station also has many facilities including shops, restaurants and bars.
