The inside story

Opened in 1981, the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics is dedicated to space exploration, more specifically the Soviet space program featuring Gagarin, Sergey Korolev, Sputnik and Soyuz. Located in Moscow, Russia underneath the Monument to the Conquerors of Space, the museum contains over 85,000 different items with exhibits including the history of flight, astronomy and space technology.

  • The use of photo or video cameras is not included in the price of your entrance ticket
  • You will need to purchase extra tickets if you would like to use your photo or video camera inside the museum
  • Audio guides are available for an additional fee

Opening hours:

  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays from 10.00am to 7.00pm
  • Thursdays and Saturdays from 10.00am to 9.00pm
  • The museum is closed on Mondays

Getting there:

Coming from downtown, exit the metro station near the front of the train, and after exiting the station, turn left. The Museum is located in the base of The Monument to the Conquerors of Space.
