Wander around Minneparken – also known as Medieval Park – for a glimpse of Oslo’s major medieval remains such as St. Hallavard’s Cathedral. Built in the early 12th century, this was the earliest cathedral in former Oslo and was dedicated to the city’s patron saint. Here also lies the ruins of St. Olav’s Monastery, considered the best-preserved monastery in the country and its old rooms are accessible through guided tours.
