This private tour will have you hopping on and off ferries for a day to discover the various islands of the Oslo fjord. It includes a mix of hiking through forests and on sea cliffs, as well as visits to charming villages and historic sites.
Some of the activities on the day include a visit to the ruins of a historic abbey that is close to 1000 years old and a picnic lunch (bring your own or purchase along the way) on a hidden beach. You will also go walking on the flower-covered paths of a summer village which is full of brightly painted traditional wooden cabins. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit and towel so you can take a dip in the surprisingly warm waters of the Oslo fjord.
The total number of islands visited with your guide depends on the season and can vary from two to four. The walks on this tour are mostly flat but you will encounter a mix of stones, gravel paths and dirt roads. An average fitness level is required and good walking shoes for the trails are advised.
