The beloved Golden Circle is a must-see area you cannot and will not miss with this tour.
You start by heading to the Þingvellir National Park. This site is where the first Icelandic parliament was founded in 930 AD, one of the oldest in Europe. Furthermore, you will have the chance to walk from the European tectonic plate to the North-American one. This is clearly something you cannot do anywhere in the world, but luckily this is your time.
You probably heard the term geyser, but did you know that it originates from Geysir, making it the most famous geyser in the whole world. The little brother, "Strokkur" is still active today and erupts every 5-8 minutes, so you will have enough time to set up your cameras in order to catch this spectacular activity.
Gullfoss is your next stop, the golden waterfall. Being one the most powerful on the whole continent, up to 130 000 liters per second are flowing down to the depths. If the weather is sunny enough, you will be able to spot the Langjökull glacier as well on the horizon.
All this adventure probably made you hungry, the tour will then head over and visit the Friðheimar Tomato Farm, which is a prime example of the smart use of local geothermal energy. Through a short tour, you will be able to experience how this process works and enjoy the results at the restaurant. (please note the lunch is not included in the tour price)
After lunch, you will be visiting another secret favorite of Iceland, the Kerid volcanic crater in the Grímsnes area. Kerid is part of the Western Volcanic Zone and it is a clear memento of volcanic activity. The caldera is well intact, 55 meters deep and 270 meters wide. At the bottom, you will find an amazing aquamarine blue lake as well.
