What to expect

From the middle of the fifteenth century, the nobles and the wealthy of Venice had servants known as 'codega' who would be equipped with lanterns to enlighten paths in the darkness of the night, delighting them with anecdotes and stories.

Just like those times, your own personal escort will guide you through the labyrinth of mysteries surrounding the lagoon. A leap into the past that will inspire you to be the actors in your own scenes, leading you into the heart of the life of the 'Serenissima' (Venice) and its Carnival.

You will learn all about Casanova and the Levantine, about the gondolier that became a priest and about the elephant that found shelter in a church. You'll listen to stories about the angel who was made a palace guardian and why the bridge between two convents is called 'The Devil's Bridge'. You'll also find out about the secret language of the Venetian fans and about the legends of a number of ghosts that are said to live in Venice.
