Climb up to an altitude of 3.000m and enjoy incredible panoramic views near the summit craters of Etna on this 5-hour hike! This trek of great volcanological and geological interest is a valid alternative to the Summit Craters. It is among the most complete and fascinating that you can make on Etna South Side between craters, fractures, and lava flows.
After the meeting at Rifugio Sapienza, with the cable car, you'll reach an altitude of 2,500 meters and start your trekking of about 2 hours uphill and 2 hours downhill. You'll visit a lava flow channel, ancient and recent lava flows to the base of the most active crater at the moment, the Southeast Crater but also the Cratere Centrale.
Your guide will also take you to see the great craters of 2002, then descend with a fun sand descent to the overlooking Valle del Bove and finally to the cable car station to return to the starting point.
