Book your tickets now for a walking tour in Italian where your guide will help you discover the history and culture of Dublin. From when St Patrick came to evangelise the pagans, the Celtic Tiger years between 2000 and 2007, to the present day. As you find out more about the Viking and English invasions, battles, legends, rebellions, art, music and literature, this will help you understand why so many people have fallen in love with Dublin.
The walk departs daily at 10am from Trinity College (outside the main gate on College Green), where you will begin to familiarise yourself with the history of the local people. You'll learn about the legend of Molly Malone and continue on to Dublin Castle where it all began.
A short distance down the road you will find the grand St. Patrick's Cathedral followed by the city's oldest cathedral, Christchurch Cathedral. The tour continues to Temple Bar, the bohemian district and also the most fun place in the city. Crossing the Liffey Bridge known locally and around the world as the Half-Penny Bridge, your guide will take you through the streets of North Dublin. This section of the tour includes some of the most significant sites in Irish history such as The Spire and the General Post Office.
The tour will include valuable advice on the best places to discover, "where to have a good pint", "where to eat a tasty Irish stew", "where to find real Irish music", "where to take part in the city's most Irish experience, Celtic Night".
No admission tickets to individual attractions are included in the price, this is to give participants maximum freedom to visit the attractions they like best. There will be an opportunity at the end of the tour to book a series of day tours departing from Dublin city centre to the main tourist attractions in Ireland such as: Cliffs of Moher, Giant's Causeway, Howth village, Galway, Connemara, Cork, Blarney Castle, Belfast, Newgrange.
