Spend a day driving along the picturesque Tuscan countryside, enjoy a top-quality Chianti Classico wine tasting and admire amazing panoramic spots, a medieval hamlet and a century-old villa with a historic cellar. An exciting tour dedicated to wine lovers who want to discover the secrets and charm of the Chianti area.
You'll begin your experience in the centre of Florence: after meeting your guide you'll be taken to the heart of Chianti by a private English-speaking driver, along the ancient Roman road “Cassia Vetus”, surrounded by rolling hills with breathtaking views, vineyards and olive groves.
Once you've arrived you'll start your tour of the medieval village of Greve in Chianti, birthplace of Giovanni da Verrazzano, the Florentine traveler who discovered in the 15th century the Hudson Bay; you'll then have the chance to stroll around the narrow alleys of the superb stoned hilltop hamlet of Montefioralle, perfectly preserved since the 12th century.
Back in the car, you'll be treated to the spectacular panorama while your driver will tell you anecdotes and stories related to the “Black Rooster”, the emblem of the Chianti Classico.
You'll then be brought to visit a genuine, family-run, wine estate with medieval cellars where prestigious oak barrels are still today used to age the wine in: learn the secrets behind the making of the regions' olive oil, and find out the best ways to recognize the original ones.
Lastly, you'll end your experience with a typical Tuscan meal inside the private estate, made with organic ingredients grown in the property and accompanied by 3 top Chianti Classico wines and an extra-virgin olive oil tasting.
