What to expect

This tour criss-crosses Lanzarote in search of its top attractions. It kicks off in the green north, visiting the Jameos de Agua and an aloe vera plantation. You'll then enjoy a Canarian lunch in Haria before a blockbuster of an afternoon. A winery tour, Timanfaya National Park and El Golfo make for a stellar cast. David, one of our local guides, say, ‘It's hard for me to choose the best bit – they're all so good. You voyage to the moon and Mars, discover ‘cratered' winelands and visit a cave straight out of a Bond movie.'

Your adventure starts at either the aloe vera plantation or the Jameos del Agua. The latter are volcanic caverns converted into a nightclub by legendary Lanzarote architect Cesar Manrique in the 60s. The stage is still there, but the stars nowadays are the rare white crabs in a saltwater lake. Afterwards, lunch is served in a family-owned restaurant, which uses locally sourced ingredients. With this stop, you contribute to the local community and economy.

The afternoon kicks off with a tour of the family-owned Bodegas Rubicon in the volcanic La Geria region. Enjoy a tasting of its wines, which are made from grapes grown in moist circular cavities, known as ‘socos'. Then it's on to the otherworldly Timanfaya National Park. Follow the Lunar Route through lava fields, volcanos and steaming geysers before rounding off the day at the green lagoon of El Golfo.

Lanzarote wine-tasting and museum tour at Bodega Finca Mota

From the ashes of Lanzarote's volcanic eruptions spring vines that're as packed with heritage as they are in nutrients. And you can expect to be fully absorbed in the traditional world of naturally crafted wines on this visit to Bodega Finca Mota Artesanal, a family-run winery in the heart of the Tias region. This is more than your average wine-tasting. You'll begin with a private tour of the bodega's museum. Founded by Rafael and Samuel González, the father and son duo turned their home into this living museum full of vintage wine-making equipment and nostalgic knick-knacks that tell the story of generations of wine being made by hand. Then, it's on to an exclusive tasting where you'll try three highly quaffable wines. Your guide will help you identify the distinctive character and flavours of each one and explain what makes these wines so different to their European cousins. Of course you can't have wine without perfectly paired nibbles, so you'll graze on a board of premium local cheeses and traditionally cured tuna – a local delicacy. Please note, this tour begins at 12.30.

Half-day guided volcano and wine tour in southern Lanzarote
Excursões e passeios de um dia

Half-day guided volcano and wine tour in southern Lanzarote

Spend an afternoon in southern Lanzarote on this half-day guided tour, combining volcanic landscapes with local flavours. As your guide Carlos says, “southern Lanzarote's got a vibe all of its own, with lava cliffs, vineyards growing out of craters and sunsets that'll make you stop and stare.”You'll kick things off in the village of Yaiza, known for its traditional white buildings, palm-lined streets and quiet atmosphere. A stroll through the Plaza de los Remedios is the ideal introduction to this laidback, rural part of the island. Next, you'll take a look at the coastal scenery during a walk along Playa Montana Bermeja, where black volcanic sand meets the Atlantic Ocean. Then, swing by Bodega Suárez in La Geria, a charming, family-run winery offering more than just a taste. Surrounded by volcanic landscapes, it produces authentic wines using traditional methods, with vines grown in ash-filled hollows protected by stone walls. As Carlos puts it, “it's not just about sipping wine – it's about an immersive atmosphere where every detail from the décor to the story feels like stepping into a family archive, and where wine is made by hand with minimal intervention.” Finally, you'll wrap up your tour at Volcan del Cuervo, a volcanic crater in the middle of La Geria – AKA wine country. It's one of Lanzarote's most accessible volcanic sites – you can walk right into the crater – and was born during the massive Timanfaya eruptions that began in 1730. You'll arrive just before sunset, the perfect time to take it all in as the sun sets across the lava fields.
