Casa Patas is a tavern-restaurant and flamenco performance space located in the center of Madrid. It is considered an exemplar of excellence in the World of Flamenco.

The singularity of Casa Patas is the combination of traditional restoration and high-quality flamenco performances. Located on the ground floor of a building dated in the 1880's in Lavapies district. After decades of history, Casa Patas has been able to earn, not without effort, the respect of the flamenco lovers and has become a reference of this art in Madrid.
There are two spaces: the tavern-restaurant and the tablao (a performance space exclusively for flamenco). The first, opening onto Cañizares Street, welcomes customers into a spacious bar area that leads into the table dining zone. By tradition, tapas, Spain's 'brief art' are consumed at the bar but can also serve as an entrée to a delicious lunch or dinner. The second space, behind a door, is the tablao or flamenco performance space, where the daily flamenco shows take place. There are food and drink options here as well.
You can choose whatever combination strikes your fancy or meets your needs. It's possible to visit just the bar or the restaurant or the tablao or combine two or all three in any order. Everything is possible.

The quality of the gastronomy is founded on the careful selection of prepared products as well as raw materials cooked according to the best traditional Spanish recipes. Spanish cuisine, a touchstone of Casa Patas, is part of the Mediterranean diet, which has been declared part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Flamenco has one of its main temples in Casa Patas. As connoisseurs of this art, listed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, Casa Patas takes Flamenco very seriously. This leads us to be very demanding in our selection of the artists who perform here as well as in the conditions of the space where these performances take place. In order to ensure these conditions, it is of utmost importance that the tablao have its own room with theatre-quality conditions that bring out the best in performers and encourage respectful attention in the audience. These are factors that Flamenco performers greatly appreciate. The variety of our programming is another important element. Each week, different artists with original shows contribute to the freshness of the performances and keeps musicians, singers and dancers motivated and working at the peak of their capacities.
All these factors converge in the fact that Casa Patas has been, since its founding, a place where Flamenco artists living in Madrid can meet and interact with performers coming from other parts of Spain and beyond. The frequent presence of performers, as well as experts along with the general public, is a remarkable stimulant for the artists on stage who create truly magical nights of 'duende' and 'pellizco'.
In 2009 Casa Patas was honored by the Community of Madrid with the Enrique Maya Award for its contribution to the development and dissemination of Flamenco Art as well as for its ongoing work in the integration of the Roma (Gypsy) People.
