This STEP walking tour takes you on a scenic stroll in the Oued Zat valley. Travelling through the dense green basin of the Atlas Mountains, we'll visit remote Berber villages, watch a master potter at work and eat lunch with the locals in a typical Moroccan home.
Trekking over rugged mountain passes, we'll make our way to Tighadouine first. Every week, nomadic merchants meet up in the middle of this mountainous crossroads to trade. Mingle with locals and try your hand at a bit of bartering – but beware, they can drive a hard bargain.
Moving on, we'll make our way to Talataste where master craftsmen transform clay and sand into handmade pottery – a great souvenir. When it's time to take a break, there's an authentic Berber lunch to look forward to, served in a local home. Finally, you'll find out all about the British-Moroccan Society – a project that promotes sustainable tourism and cements relations between the UK and Morocco through culture and the arts.
