First, you’ll travel by bus up the first 1,000 meters of Vesuvius – the active volcano that buried Pompeii in AD79 and still looms large over the Gulf of Naples. You’ll finish the journey to the crater on foot. And with top-drawer views from the top, you’ll want to take your camera for this one.
