After a short briefing, where you will be provided with the necessary equipment, you will begin the excursion. With the help of the cable car and unimog 4x4 you will quickly gain altitude up to 2900m above sea level. Once at Torre del Filosofo you will start an entirely on foot trekking of about 2 hours, crossing several lava fields of ancient and recent eruptions, up to the summit craters.
Once you'll reach the summit of Etna, the highest active volcano in Europe, you will admire the peculiarities that characterize the summit area walking on the edge of the crater. You will descend on foot through the sand, visit other craters from different historical periods and cross a channel of lava flow. Lastly, you will return on foot to the upper station of the cableway that will bring you back to the starting point.
