Once you've been picked up from your accommodation, you'll head straight for the Colosseum, skipping the queues. Once inside, your guide will tell you all you need to know about the biggest amphitheater in the world and how the gladiators entertained the crowds with their spectacular fights. You'll learn about the complex engineering applied by the Romans to build the most technologically advanced entertainment complex of its time. The guide will lead you up to the second level of the Colosseum where you can take in the beautiful view of the arena.
After completing your visit to the Colosseum, you'll proceed onto the archaeological site of the Roman Forum. Stroll around the ruins of ancient temples and Roman mausoleums, including that of the Roman senate, and see the original altar where Julius Caesar’s body was cremated. From the Forum, an English-speaking driver will take you across the city to explore the world-famous Vatican museums and two of the most important churches in the world: the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. You'll be amazed by the number of masterpieces that will surround you, all by great artists such as Michelangelo, Gian Lorenzo Bernini and many more.
At the end of the tour, the guide will take you to the official Vatican gift store, where you'll have some free time for shopping.
