Villa Valmarana ai Nani is a splendid 18th-century estate on the outskirts of Vicenza and still managed and inhabited by the Valmarana family.
The mansion consists of three historic buildings of which the Palazzina and the Foresteria can be visited, both of which were frescoed by the artists Giambattista and Giandomenico Tiepolo, considered the expressive apex of 18th-century painting.
The Villa's name comes from the statues of the seventeen stone dwarfs, arranged on the wall surrounding the property, to whom an intriguing and mysterious legend is linked.
