Your day begins at 7.00am at your hotel in Bogotá, and during the trip, you will make a stop at La Calera to taste the tradition arepas with red wine (a softer version of American coffee). When you arrive at the entrance of the Chingaza National Park, you will meet the local guide, who will accompany you along with the walk through one of nature's largest water sources. Chingaza is one of the most impressive natural parks in Colombia. Located just east of Bogotá at an altitude of 3400 meters above sea level, this natural park offers to the visitors a unique ecosystem belonging to the high Andean forest. This nature reserve offers a network of trails where you will have the opportunity to be in contact with its unique flora species.
The walk lasts approximately three hours and culminates in Buitrago Lagoon. After the walk, you will return to the cabin, where you can take an aguapanela (an infusion made from panela which is derived from hardened sugar cane juice). You can use the bathrooms to change your wet clothes. After the walk, the driver will take you back to your hotel or any other part of the city just in time for lunch.
