Ljubljana Castle Tickets and Tours

Perched on a green hill in the middle of the city, Ljubljana Castle is a main landmark in the Slovenian capital. Originally constructed as a medieval fortress, the present-day complex was largely reconstructed in the 16th century featuring renovated rooms of the nobility, immaculate halls and of course the castle dungeon.

Ride the 70 meter-long funicular departing from the Old Town, explore the historical monuments around the walls on a leisurely stroll and enjoy spectacular views of the city below.

Inside the castle walls, you can climb to the top of the castle’s 19th-century Watchtower and learn about the history of Ljubljana on a 12-minute video tour. Admire the frescoed walls and the coats of arms in the Chapel of St George and see the interactive Slovenian History Exhibition.
