The vast plains of the Maasai Mara National Reserve await on this three‑day safari. Your first day kicks off with a flight from Mombasa to the Maasai Mara, with Mount Kilimanjaro setting the scene in the distance. Once you touch down at the airstrip, your guide will be waiting to whisk you straight out on your first game drive, winding through the reserve on the way to your stay at Mara Engai Wilderness Lodge. The lodge sits right on the edge of the Oloololo Escarpment – the western wall of the Great Rift Valley – serving up far-reaching views across the Mara below. After check-in and lunch, you’ll head back out on a game drive, so keep an eye out for the Big Five – that’s lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes and rhinos – plus plenty of other wildlife, from giraffes to zebras and eagles flying overhead. As evening settles in, you’ll make your way back for dinner and your first night’s stay at the lodge.
On day two, you’ll head out early in the morning for another game drive – the perfect time to catch the Mara waking up – with chances to spot cheetahs, hyenas, hippos and more. Afterwards, you’ll return to the lodge for breakfast. The rest of the morning is yours to unwind and enjoy the lodge’s facilities, like the viewing decks and lounge areas, before sitting down for lunch. In the afternoon, you’ll venture back into the reserve to see more of the Mara’s landscapes and wildlife. You’ll end the day with dinner at the lodge, followed by your second overnight stay.
Your final morning begins with one last game drive and chance to spot anything you may have missed. Then, it’s back to the lodge for breakfast and check-out before heading to the airstrip for your mid-morning flight to Mombasa and a transfer back to your hotel.
