Discover the Jordanian ancient history on this full-day tour of Karak and Shobak castles! Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Petra and drive you to the north to visit two Crusaders Castles dating back to the 12th century. These sites are famous for their unique blend of civilizations, ranging from Romans and Byzantines to the Arab-Islamic one.
You will first stop at one of the most important and largest Crusader Castles in the Levant region: Crac Des Moabites (locally known as Karak Castle). This 12th-century castle was mostly under the direct control of fighting Crusaders during the Holy Wars, serving as an important stronghold. You will also have the chance to explore Krak de Montreal or Mons Regalis (also known as Al Shobak Castle). This impressive fortress was built by King Baldwin I of Jerusalem to guard the road from Egypt to Damascus.
After the tour, your guide will drive you back to your resort in the Dead Sea or to your hotel in Amman.
