Musement is dedicated to bringing you the best, which is why we're introducing you to the TUI Collection designed by TUI, the world leader in travel.
All the blockbusters in Phang Nga Bay star in this two-in-one small group tour, which sees you exploring by land and water. You'll ride on a longtail boat to James Bond Island and Hong Island, then discover the famous Monkey Cave as well as viewpoints and waterfalls in the afternoon. Boonpong, one of our expert local guides, says, ‘Khao Phing Kan's destiny changed the moment 007 landed his seaplane onto its beach. Even the locals now refer to these twin uninhabited islets as “James Bond Island”.'
To start this action-packed day, you'll cast off on local longtail boats from Ban Hinrom Pier to explore the bay by sea. And you'll soon be surrounded by the emerald-topped karsts that give Phang Nga Bay its fame. You'll whizz across the bay to Hong Island first, exploring the caves by canoe. Then it's time to discover James Bond Island – its original name means ‘Hills Leaning Against Each Other' – which was Scaramanga's lair in The Man with the Golden Gun. You'll disembark here to explore and take some photos of the karst formations, caves and beaches.
We'll stop for a swim at another beach on the way back to the dock. Once you're back on land, it's time for lunch at one of the best viewpoints around Phang Nga Bay, Samet Nangshe, where you'll dine with views over the bay and islands. Next stop will be Monkey Cave, or Wat Suwan Khuha, home to the 15-metre-long reclining golden Buddha – and lots of monkeys. Finally, you'll chill out and swim at Raman Forest waterfall in the jungle.
