Zundert is a small city in the South of the Netherlands. It is very famous for its flower parade, and also because it is the birthplace of the post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh. You can visit his birth house which is now a museum, and learn more about him and his life. The flower parade “Bloemencorso Zundert” is the oldest and largest flower parade in the world. It is the first Sunday in September. Huge and impressive lorry-mounted sculptures covered in thousands of dahlia flowers parade through the city. There are not many options for accommodation in Zundert, so plan your visit in advance. There are several restaurants, one very special one that was a monastery for nuns before, and now they serve different menus, also a la carte, and of course a huge variety of different beers.
