The inside story
The Louvre Abu Dhabi opened in November 2017 to tell the stories of the world through its permanent and temporary displays. With around 8,000 square meters of exhibition space, this 'museum-city' houses works of art and artefacts from the prehistoric to the contemporary age. Designed by the celebrated architect Jean Nouvel, the museum's 55 buildings are linked by the incredible dome formed of 7,850 steel-stars. Over the twelve thematized galleries, the Louvre Abu Dhabi presents a history of humanity across the eastern and western worlds.
