What to expect

Hit the coast on this incredible tour of Scotland as you head into Fife to discover its coastal towns. Sample some fish and chips at Anstruther, hit the links in St Andrews or step back in time at Falkland.

Leave the city behind and head north to Fife, the famous Forth Rail Bridge will be the first attraction you see on your tour. Not only is it a stunning example of Victorian engineering, it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is definitely worth a visit. You’ll explore the often-forgotten corner of Fife, East Neuk as you discover the historic fishing villages and stunning coastal scenery along the way.

Stop off in Anstruther, a town famous for its fish and chips, and snap some photos of the gorgeous sea views. While you’re there, you can swing by the Wee Couper of Fife and enjoy a local whisky tasting and learn all you can from the experts. If you’d prefer something less intense, you can stroll around the little town and check out its independent shops, cafes and beach. If you look out to sea, you’ll see the Isle of May which is a national nature reserve and the home to seabirds, seals and other wildlife.

Then it’s time to head off to the star of the tour, St Andrews. As the spiritual home of golf, it is a must see for all devotees of the game. You could even follow in the footsteps of the greats and practice your own golfing skills on the course. Or you can stroll around and admire the stunning gothic architecture of St Andrew’s University, its ancient cathedral and castle. There’s really no shortage of things to do in St Andrews. You can explore the sunning beaches and take in the gorgeous sea views, get up close to sea life as you check out over 100 species of fish at the aquarium or just take time to explore the shops and cafes that make this university town special.

Then you’ll head to Falkland which is a beautiful village where time seems to have stood still! Fans of Outlander will recognise this town as post-war Inverness as the Bruce Fountain here plays a vital role. You can take time to browse the craft shops or even visit the stunning Falkland Palace and Gardens. You’ll feel like royalty as you walk around the amazing formal gardens, discover its history and see the oldest tennis courts in use anywhere in the world.
