After being picked up at your hotel/address, you will leave Lisbon's western suburbs and will travel to Sintra. When you arrive there you will feel like entering into another world because this town is in a green mountainscape of palaces, country estates, parks and also a medieval castle.
The colorful Palace of Sintra is at the center of all. It was a residence for the Portuguese royalty, and it’s just one of the many exquisite properties that will capture your heart. If you want to visit these places (entrance fee is not included) but don't want to wait in line, let your tour guide help you skip the lines, and show you how to avoid crowds
Another important landmark is the enigmatic Quinta da Regaleira, the playground of a wealthy eccentric, with connections to the Freemasons or the Pena Palace. Here you can climb the stairs of its fairy tale towers or trek through woodland planted with giant exotic trees in the 19th century. If you carry on to the coast, you'll find beaches beneath sky-scraping cliffs, where you will get the chance to visit the iconic westernmost point of Europe, the Roca Cape (Cabo da Roca).
The day will continue with a fantastic drive alongside the coast, with the chance to see the local surfers at Guincho, and a stop at the Portuguese Riviera, an amazing fishing village called Cascais, where you'll get the chance to have lunch (at your own expense) and stroll around the maze of streets at the historical center. After visiting Cascais, you can just sit back and relax during the drive back to Lisbon.
